Comparing Communism In Russia And China

In the dictionary, communism is defined as a political theory leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs. In other words, everyone makes the same income and has the same items, no matter how much or little work one puts in. Communism has spread throughout many countries today, and causes and drives constant worry and fear for many citizens. Communism overthrowing the current countries government was a fear the United States of America had during the time of the Cold War. In the article, “Case Against Rosenberg Falls Apart,” the fear of communism is shown; and, how this caused the executions of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg for committing espionage.

The Merriam-Webster definition of socialism is “any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods.” In simple terms socialism is the collective ownership of goods and the means by which they are distributed. Although many socialists today would be quick to distinguish communism and socialism as two different things, they do indeed work together. Communism being defined by Merriam-Webster as “a system in which goods are owned in common and are available to all as needed.” Communism is just the outpouring of the philosophical idea of socialism.

There was a second red scare and it was more than just background music. It was a crusade that went against the communist influence with the United States.   The scope is wide and deep that curtailing the civil liberties. They had to quell political dissent to the top level of national politics to the lowest neighborhood or school meeting. There was a loyalty oath that paralleled progress of the cold war.

Socialism is an economic system based on the collective ownership of the means of production, collective distribution of goods and services, and government regulation of the economy. Communism is a system of government that eliminates private property. Communism was an economic-political philosophy founded by Karl Marx and Fredrich Engels. These men both had similar principle which lead to their book named " The Communist Manifesto ". They both desired to end capitalism feeling that it was the social class system that led to exploitation of workers. This led to many conflicts between capitalism and communism as economic systems. Communism posed a domestic threat to America because communism resulted in Red Scare, Era of McCarthyism, and Cold War.

Communism was outraged by the growing gap between rich and poor. The communist, is based on the principle to correct the problems caused by capitalism, one of the most important principle of communism, is that no private ownership of property should be allowed and property should be shared so the people should ultimately control the economy. While I was doing my research in capitalism I found that one of the goals of communism is to eliminate the gap between rich and poor to bring economic equality. Saying so, this means that the economic individual decision making for consumer has to be the same. Communism Communists strive for extermination of social class and inequality through equal distribution of collective output. The government is authorized to control and make decisions. All means of production and property are occupied centrally, which is in opposition to capitalism. The mere existence of private property ownership, free markets as well as social class are abolished and replenished with collective ownership of means of production and redistribution. In due cause, the significance of government declines due to social equality, establishing a stateless society (Harold, 1968).

The idea of communism arose from The Communist Manifesto written by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. The Communist Manifesto was a political pamphlet that gave an approach to class struggle and capitalism. The pamphlet soon after became popular across the world. Over a 100 years later, an African-American civil rights leader by the name of Martin Luther King Jr. would read this pamphlet and use similar idea's to achieve his dream of integration and equality. King, a minister, was known for using somewhat communist views in reference to Marx in many of his speeches and letters.

Communism builds on the idea that everyone is the same and should earn the same amount of money regardless of their profession. The most important with communism is that there should not be any class distinctions. China, Laos, Cuba and Vietnam
