Aparna after each session spent supporting with the children, Aparna reports to the teacher which includes information about how the children behaved whilst working. If Aparna have had to use any sanctions, Aparna informs to the teacher. , if children have behaved and participated well, or produced some good work, I also include the rewards I have given them e.g. stickers, showing their work to the head teacher and five minutes playing outside, similarly informing that child that she/he would have to go back to his classroom instead of joining in with the planned activity if continued to behave in a negative way.

Addictions – this could mean that a child or young person may live and grow up in a household where the parents or carers may be into drugs and alcohol abuse, not only will this cause financial problems for the family as people that are addicts usually put their addiction before other needs which means they will normally neglect the child and their needs. Someone that is addicted to substance abuse or alcohol abuse and caring for a child are unable to provide a stable, loving, caring and safe environment for that child. Being a child or young person in this environment they will usually try to take on a much higher role within the household then they should be to try and care for the family, this can be any younger siblings they may have as well as the parents.

If all members of the school community are using the same principles and techniques when managing behaviour, it is much more likely that the children will respond in a positive way. The children will know the range of rewards and dispensations, and the order in which they will be used, no matter who is speaking to them about their behaviour. Workforce re-modelling has had an impact on a number of different professionals who are now working in schools. Support staff and midday supervisors, as well as those running extended school provision, should know the importance and impact of consistent methods. Every child has the ability to learn and develop. Having high expectations is especially important in achieving better outcomes for the most vulnerable children. Some children require additional support and different learning experiences and opportunities to help them learn and develop. If a staff member didn’t have a high expectation of a child in my work place I would challenge them and remind them that they took the role on and committed to high expectations for all the children’s learning and development and support which they would require, in my role and being a parent myself I can recognise that every child can learn, but some children require quite different opportunities and support to be able to do this, A.B when I first started

However, it is just as important to recognise and reward positive behaviour by those children who always behave well. By emphasising positive behaviour in the classroom and explaining why, e.g. “look at child X, who is listening well, as they always do”, we are encouraging this behaviour, as we recognise and praise the child for behaving well. During this developmental interview, I chose to conduct an observation/interview study with my one of my cousin’s child. This child is a 4 year old girl and will be identified as “child K” in relation to her first name. Her parents had no problem letting me interview her, but I had them stay in the same room as us. The purpose of this interview was to observe the child’s physical, cognitive, and socioemotional development. I observed her behavior and gave her several tests to show how well she has progressed.

Children with disabilities require a lot more support than those without a disability in order to help them develop their skills and become more independent. Disabilities can affect more than one area of a child’s development depending on what disability they have and what support is available in order to help improve the child’s needs etc. Emotionally children are affected due to them maybe having signs of depression where they are quiet than the rest of the children and they shy away from joining in with different activities and getting involved with other children.

Explain the importance to children’s holistic development of Speech, language and communication This development is important for children’s holistic development as this will help the children to socialise and help them express what they like and need, this will get them to have more sense about the world. If the child can communicate this will help them with their confident and self-esteem levels as they can talk about how they feel.it is important for children to use their own language skills and not to listen to other all the time and this could put their development back. Adults should praise children a lot so they have the encouragement try new things but it is important you adults to give them feedback so that they can learn from right and wrong.

Explain how different types of interventions can promote positive outcomes for children and young people where development is not following the expected pattern. As mentioned in task 7 there are different factors which contribute towards child’s development not follow expected pattern. Early identification of the problem put one in advantageous position to get early solution. Early intervention for children is made up of therapies and services.

The first principle states to, “Involve Infants and Toddlers in Things That Concern Them.” The caregiver’s primary goal should be to keep the child involved in what is happening to the child’s body. When you involve a child in certain activities this will increase the child’s attention span, body awareness, and cooperation. For example, try involving your child in bath time. Instead of giving the child a toy to play with let the child know what you are doing.

Observations are very important when planning for children’s individual needs. While observing practitioner understand children’s needs, interests and their stage of development. Once children’s needs, interests and stage of development are recognised, practitioner can plan activities and resources accordingly. Children must be observed frequently as their needs, interests and stage of development keeps on changing. The activities given to children should be according to their current abilities which will enhance their development.

Throughout this course of four weeks, my perspective of child development has changed drastically in this short amount of time. This was my first class that was related to child development and there was a lot of material that was important to learn and understand. I came to this class with not much knowledge, but I am definitely leaving this class with an abundance of information that I will be able to use in my career or just in general. Discontinuous Within the process of child development, my view is based upon that is children are constantly growing through stages which is a discontinuous process.
