It will empower laws to get guns to the right citizens. Once again America needs to and should enforce gun control and reduce crimes, violence, suicides, and deaths.

These individuals support gun control because this system will keep their kids and families safe. It is a plan to protect all Americans. “This is about these families, and families all across the country, who are saying,”Let 's make it a little harder for our kids to get gunned down,”-Barack Obama, 44th U.S. President. It is going to strengthen the system. Also, prevent bad people from getting guns. Equally as important it will reduce gun violence. Sixty-six percent of Americans support gun control. These individuals support background checks meaning if one has had a bad past or serve mental illness they will not be able to get a gun, and ninety-seven percent of Americans and gun owners support that. Pursuing this further sixty-seven to twenty-nine percent support a nationwide ban on assault weapons. Furthermore, eighty-three to fourteen percent want a mandatory wait so if one wants to use a gun for a crime they will have wait and if they already have a criminal past they will not be able to get the firearm. For example, if one wants to buy a gun to commit suicide they will have to wait and maybe when they finally are able to get the firearm they do not want to commit such fatal incident. These laws will be stricter but it will be for the good of the people. Also, foreign invaders would not be able to commit a massacre. That want people with good intentions with guns not people with bad intentions. …show more content…
Yes, education about guns would be good but for example, all most everyone knows what drugs, smoking, alcohol does to one but that does not stop them. Some readers could argue that strict gun control laws do not work in Mexico, and will not work in the United States. However, these are two different countries and citizens, what might not work there might work wonderfully here. Some many think gun control laws such as background checks and micro-stamping are an invasion of privacy. Some might think it is but it will let one know if giving the firearm to a safe person or not, in fact, many said that about the Patriot Act, an act that was passed to try to stop the terrorist from hurting anyone by eavesdropping, but that act stop many terrorist before creating a
“Americans in gun owning households are much less supportive of new restrictions on firearms than those who don’t have a firearm in the house. Across polls that reported such results, between 40 and 45 percent of respondents in gun-owning households support an assault weapons ban. A bare majority of this group supported a ban on high-capacity ammunition magazines in the CBS-NYT poll, but support dropped below half in three other polls. Strong majorities of gun owning household members support requiring background checks for private sales at gun shows, standing at 86 percent in the Post-ABC survey and 85 percent in the Pew poll.”
If you haven’t been keeping up with today’s debates, then I advise you should. You might know many of the top topics that people have always argued over for a hundred years now like abortion, the legal drinking age, and the death penalty, but what I am going to talk about is none of these, I’ve chosen instead everyone’s favorite topic which of course is gun control! Gun control has been a huge topic of discussion in the United States today. Recently, there has been many unpleasant events that have happened involving guns, and if you haven’t kept up much with the news and are wondering why is this certain issue being brought up a lot here recently? Then let me to tell you.
Gun Control Are you a person that has, or has ever had possession of a gun? People believe that the United States of America should have gun control. I do not believe that. I believe people should have the right to posses, and bear arms.
Gun control has been a controversial issue for many years. Many citizens believe that if gun control is strictly enforced it would reduce the threat of crime. People have the right to bear arms for protection, or even just the pleasure of hunting and recreational activity. With the recent events involving firearms and mass shootings, people are skeptical whether to increase or decrease gun laws. Americans have a constitutional right to own handguns and stricter laws and licensing will not effectively save lives.
I also hold the same position with them . However, there is still a large portion of people against the gun control. For those people who against stronger gun control, they argue that the stronger gun control may stimulate people’s rebellion inside them and increase the crime rate. Just like when we see “Do
A gun is made to be used at its full capability. Weapons are used also for protection over your family,(“A ban on assault weapons would not reduce crime”) also said, “ California 's murder rate increased every year for five years, twenty-six percent total. That is a perfect example of why some people feel the need to keep a gun or firearm in their homes, they are aware of the murder rate due to the media. People do not want to take a chance on someone hurting them so they feel the need to have one, witch is understandable because the murder rate has raised in the last 5 years there. You don’t want your firearm to not be able to be used to its maximum strength at a time if someone was to try to harm you, you would want it to be able to be used at its maximum strength to be able to protect you from harm.
Gun Violence In America Gun violence in america accounted for 33,636 deaths in 2015 alone and that number is only rising. If every american was able to obtain a firearm imagine what the numbers of gun related deaths. Even gun related injuries caused many more hospital visits in america what many other common incidents. That is why america needs to implement tighter gun laws to reduce the amount of gun violence in America. Without this we will continue to see shooting, gun death, gun injuries resulting in more and more gun related violence.
During Early America, our Founding Fathers declared that each man in America is entitled to a set of rights to protect themselves and from the government. The 1st and 2nd amendments guarantee each American is entitled to The Right to Bear Arms by “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. " I 've come here before today to ask you here today if you feel you are in danger of the gov’t. I 've got a proposition for you young Americans; if you are in danger of the gov’t and are obliged to fall into submission of their so called corrupt ways stand up and make a difference and stand for a new change in the American way of life.
26 Oct. 2015. This article talks about the supporters and non-supporters of gun control and what all of it could lead too. It talks about our Second Amendment rights and how the Democrats as well as The Republicans wanted to make it harder for the mentally ill to get firearms in their hands. They would increase the funding for the prosecutions and they would even get more strict on the control of gun trafficking. This article also states that The Democrats were very quick to blame The Republicans for the broken gun laws.
Gun Control Gun control has become a polarizing and controversial issue around the globe. There have been many reported issues of mass shootings both in schools and in the public, making it a hot button issue. Proponents argue that, if the government strictly controls the ownership of guns, such tragedies can be prevented. Most Americans have an obsession with guns because the law allows them to do so. Therefore, they are always ready to scoff at anyone trying to control gun ownership.
The use of and the owning of guns is a very hot and debated topic in society today. For many, this is a life and death debate due to the recent and numerous school shootings. These school shootings have caused an outcry for more gun control, specifically in relation to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting. Despite these calls, increased gun control is not the answer. Most gun owners’ use their guns responsibly and for good purposes.
Gun Control in America Gun control in America is a highly debated subject. James Wilson speaks against gun control in his article “Gun Control Isn’t the Answer”. Gun laws need to be more restricted. Gun control reform is needed to safeguard children and prevent access to those with mental illness and a criminal background. Wilson talks about the shooting at Virginia Tech using it as a platform to talk about people not weapons being responsible for the tragedy.
Guns are just a tool, like knives and hammers and it completely depends on the people on how they use it. People who support guns and arms say that the Second Amendment secures individual’s right to carry guns with them and that gun rights is needed for self-protection, and was intended for military to have peace and defend the country if needed (Spitzer, 70). Most of the Americans use guns as a source to protect themselves and they believe that gun ownership prevents crime. A study conducted on November 26, 2013 showed that bans on weapons did not significantly affect murder rates at the state level (Lane, 5). Moreover, even if the rules and regulations are executed on gun control, not all criminals obey the law.
Instead of banning or limiting guns, the evidence will show that removing the current restrictions and targeting individuals instead of guns will be a more effective process. The topic of gun control has two polarized opinions. One such opinion targets the individuals responsible for the crime, instead of just the weapons. John Moorhouse and Brent Wanner tackle the issue of gun control in their article “Does Gun Control Reduce Crime Or Does Crime Increase Gun Control”, which was published in 2006 in the twenty-sixth volume of the Cato Journal. These researchers looked at the effects gun control laws had on violent crime and gun violence in the individual states.
The number of incidents of gun violence last year in the United States was about 60,000. In recent years, the number of mass shooting has risen to about one mass shooting per day in the United States. The country is divided with some wanting to reevaluate our gun control laws and either ban or add additional regulations to the purchase of guns. Others say it is our right for Americans to own guns and something the founding fathers considered important to put in the Bill of Rights. The number of firearm sales has risen with the number of mass shooting many Americans question if banning guns or certain guns could help decrease the number of gun violence deaths.
