Hooke’s law is the law is named after 17th-century British physicist Robert Hooke. He is first stated the law 1660 .the principle of physics that the force F needed to extend or compress a spring by some distance X is proportional to that distance. F=Kx when K is a constant factor of the …show more content…
(Engineers say "Stress is proportional to strain".) In symbols, F = kx, where F is the force, x is the stretch, and k is a constant of proportionality. If Hooke's Law is correct, then, the graph of force versus stretch will be a straight line.
Tensile testing experiment
Purpose of the experiment:
Tensile testing is one of the most fundamental tests for engineering, and provides valuable information about a material and its associated properties. These properties can be used for design and analysis of engineering structures, and for developing new materials that better suit a specified use.The basic idea of a tensile test is to place a sample of a material between two fixtures called "grips" which clamp the material.
Procedure:
The tensile test was on three different materials, aluminum, steel and brass.
The Aluminum had the highest resilience if compere with the steel or brass it got 5.5mm of extension after the load.

Therefore, the purpose of the lab, which was established as, to see the role that static electricity has on objects, when determining their charge and how they interact, is fulfilled in a wall mannered fashion. This process extends to other objects and real world applications, such as the controlling of electrical cable manufacturing and application in areas such as a television depot station, where static electricity must be managed and accounted for to avoid disruptions. As well as in micro surgery where small mechanical devices and robots must be carefully monitored in electron level in order to preserve machine functionality and efficiency. Therefore, the purpose of the lab is met and the hypotheses was supported, proving the quality and efficiency of the lab being

Nevertheless, Peter, who represents “youth and joy” himself, does not have many worries and seems to be the only character that truly enjoys life. He has character traits that people seem to lose during growing up, namely “cockiness” and a great self-confidence. His bravery and courage manifested in the sense that he believes that everything is possible and he is capable of doing everything. It is ambiguous that such, at first sight, bad character traits are “his most fascinating qualities”.
V= IR seems a pretty simple law to name after someone, but the importance of Ohm 's work does not lie in this simple proportionality. What Ohm did was develop the idea of voltage as the driver of electric current. Ohm had to face a lot of opposition. This discovery was not accepted until 1841 (“A Timeline Of History Of Electricity,” n.d.).
Hatchet by Gary Paulsen Plot Analysis Exposition: The exposition of “Hatchet” introduces you to Brian, the main character of the book. He is on a plane to visit his father since his parents had just gotten a divorce. As he was on his way, the pilot had a sudden heart attack. Rising action: During the rising action, Brian’s plane crashes and he soon realizes he is the only survivor. While finding nobody alive, he is faced with harsh challenges such as finding food, creating shelter, and more.
For this experiment, the materials needed include an
Every day people are breaking the law, but people do not even know it. Frank Tippett in his passage, states that many people are breaking the law and do not know that they are. He supports his statement by giving examples and backing those examples up. The authors uses a harsh tone for those who break the minor laws that keep the people safe. The authors statement is well put together and is put to the point very well.
The formula for the 2nd law of motion is F=ma. (studios). The 3rd law of motion says, “that for every action (force) there is an equal and opposite reaction (force).”
Through all his studies and tests, he stuck to the scientific method of experimentation and observation. Hooke created some of the most up-to-date technologies and instruments in his abundances of projects and tests (biography). In the year 1660 Robert Hooke discovered and released Hooke’s Law, which says the tension force in a spring increases in direct proportion to the length it is stretched to. (Famous). It set the foundation for studies on strain and stress, and for understanding how elastic materials work and function (Learnodo).
Introduction The intent of this experiment is to understand how hot and cold water interact with each other by combining clear hot water and black ice cold water. I hope to learn more about how hot and cold water interact with each other. As of now, I know that cold water is denser than hot water. Knowing this I formed my hypothesis.
The stories that we have heard as we have grown up have helped us to learn about the world around us by creating examples, as well as warnings about the experiences we may face. These stories have taught us to adapt to our surroundings, and be aware of the things going on in our world. We find ourselves able to develop because we learn by hearing stories of those who have experienced things we are going through. Stories, such as “The Hook” and Other Teenage Horrors, create a better understanding of the world around us by showing how men and women are portrayed in society, as well as discussing issues such as rape and murder, and several stereotypes.
The Enlightenment was a logical progression from the Protestant Reformation and the Scientific Revolution. In the Protestant Reformation, the political and religious views were strict to the idea of the Church. In the Scientific Revolution it was a series of events that marked the start of modern science during the early modern period, when developments in mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy. Due to the fact that it was a continuation of ideas being developed it was logical in the terms of both the Protestant Reformation and the Scientific Revolution.
Isaac Newton was an English physicist and mathematician. One of his most important accomplishments was his creation of formulas for laws for motion and gravity. Because of this, he played a big part in the Enlightenment. Isaac Newton was the most important figure of the Enlightenment because he influenced ideas, inspired thinkers, and made discoveries that changed the world from then, until now. Isaac Newton's ideas passed into the minds of the people of the Enlightenment, allowing them to create ideas for themselves.
My experiment mainly aims to answer this question: ‘How does the density of water affect the speed of light propagating through that very medium under constant temperature and pressure, while the structural and material qualities of the container used to contain the medium within are kept
Introduction: The objective for the lab was to determine properties of materials by using a tension test. The properties that were determined was Young’s Modulus, ultimate tensile strength, and yield strength. Three aluminum alloys were tested. The first was the AA 2024 , which is high strength used in aerospace applications.
