Some internal factors that contributed to the fall of the Roman empire included their financial strains, and the people starting to distrust each other. Some external factors that contributed to the downfall of the Roman empire include constant pressure from the northern world, and Rome’s army not being able to compete with other armies.

The Roman Empire started out small in the beginning but was able to grow into a large power. The Romans had a little amount of land when it was founded so they used their military for the purpose of expanding and gaining more land. The Romans were able to conquered the area around them and all the way to modern day England to parts of Africa and the middle east. The Roman Empire used its troops to conquer an area then use its troops to assimilate the local population into the Roman culture to help lower the chance of uprising from the locals.

The roman Empire controlled a large territory around the Mediterranean including north Africa, most Europe, and some of the middle East. The Roman Empire was able to conquer such vast land by how Technologically advanced they were with their army and daily life too. The people they conquer most of the time did not fight and let themselves get taken over by the Romans because they establish a more civilized society. The people that the Romans conquered saw more advantages than disadvantages, and for that reason they joined the Roman Empire. The Reason the Roman Empire fell is because the military was weak, for barbarians attacked and the Romans could not defend themselves.

However, once the empire was vast enough its geography varied quite a bit. It went from the moderate climate of northern Italy too much warmer climates in northern Africa. In closing, there are five factors that led to the decline of the Roman Republic and the rise of the Roman Empire. Many different things caused the fall. There is no one answer to why it happened. It is very probable, however that the fall was inevitable. It was going to happen because the society was going to grow out of the republic.

Throughout ancient history, there have been many considerable and loyal rulers. However, there is one ruler that left a mark on his nation. Augustus Caesar impacted history and made Rome the powerful and supreme nation that we know to be today. Octavian was a fair but devoted leader. Augustus had many contributions to Rome such as conquering many lands, bringing peace to the lands, and being respectful towards his people.
