Killing Abortion Is Worse Than Killing a Fetus A woman walks through a crowd of hatred. People scream and jeer at her as she traipses past their signs, calling her a sinner, a murderer, and a monster. The protestors care little for the living, breathing woman- they only care about her fetus. Abortion is a choice a woman makes when she does not want to continue her pregnancy, so she has her fetus removed. It has become demonized and twisted throughout the years, making the procedure harder and harder to obtain. In essence, this is atrocious, because abortion is not the ugly monster that it has been made out to be. Abortion is a procedure that is essential to have available to all, in order to protect women’s rights and safety. In many situations, …show more content…
Many misguided souls believe that adoption is the better alternative to abortion. In reality, this is not supported by logic and facts. The adoption system is in a negative state, which underpaid workers and kids without future plans. Likewise, a female may get an abortion because pregnancy is too dangerous or giving birth is too expensive- not because she does not wish to raise a child. Another common philosophy is that pregnancy is a consequence of not using contraception during sex. People claim that suffering through a pregnancy, giving birth, and raising the unwanted child is the responsible thing to do if one gets pregnant. However, some would find that the more responsible solution is getting an abortion. Not everyone has access to contraception, or has been educated on how to use it. More work should be done to educate people on and create more access to contraception rather than punishing those who were not taught. “What if the fetus grows up to cure cancer?” is a common question posed by the opposite side of the argument. In the same fashion, what if the fetus grows up to be a serial killer? Clearly, that argument is illogical, as one cannot judge someone based on hypothetical future …show more content…
To add more, abortion can be the most responsible, safe, and logical solution to make when faced with an unwanted pregnancy. By the same token, a living woman should have more rights than an unborn fetus. Banning abortion would have only negative effects on the world, as supported by the disasters in Romania and El Salvador. Ultimately, logic and facts have proven that abortion being legal is crucial in preserving female rights and safety. Thus, the true “pro-life” side is pro-choice, where they fight for women to be able to live being free to
A pressing women’s right issue that has divided the nation for the last 40 years is Abortion. It’s a procedure in which a woman medically terminates her pregnancy, this option to terminate a pregnancy has come under great fire due to moral permissibility and ethical concern. The right to abortion was granted on a constitutional basis under the landmark decision by the supreme court case, “Roe Vs. Wade” but has been attacked and attempted to be dismantled by sweltering opposition by several special-interests groups.
Abortion Abortion is a medical way to end a pregnancy. It is performed at clinics or at home, with the latter being very dangerous. Methods practiced at clinics include getting the fetus vacuumed out, inducing a false and early labor, taking medicine to induce the fetus out. The safety of a procedure is completely dependant on the individual who is performing it. An unskilled medic will result in an unsafe procedure, and vise versa.
Practicing abortions are very controversial topic. According to the article “America Deserves Better”, it states abortion held center stage in a major national debate throughout the 21 century (Goldkamp 42). Some religions consider it a horrendous act. It is unacceptable in religions, no matter the reason. Society can label women who seek abortions as “sinful, selfish, dirty, irresponsible, heartless, or murderous” according to “The Bad Mother: Stigma, Abortion and Surrogacy” (Abrams 181).
This shows how aborted babies are left out of experiencing life, and how abortion violates the unborn baby’s right to life. The fact that unborn babies are to see the world is reason enough for women to not practice abortion. Opponents advocate that humans are created with some genes that he or she brings with throughout his or her life. The right to life is essential to many people (abortion.procon.org). To add on to unborn babies to be able to see the world, the impact of abortion resulted in different religions to find abortion to be considered a sin.
Unborn babies are considered human beings by the US. 2. Federal Unborn Victims of Violence Act, say’s: “to protect unborn children from assault and murder,” states that under federal law, anybody intentionally killing or attempting to kill an unborn child should “be punished…for intentionally killing or attempting to kill a human being.” The act also states that an unborn child is a “member of the species homo. sapiens.”
Mary Anne Warren establishes a belief that a fetus’s right to live is overruled by an expecting mother’s right to an abortion because it is not a technically a true person until it is born. Warren supports her argument by saying that a nearly full-developed fetus is no more significant than a small embryo because “…it is not fully conscious… it cannot reason or communicate message… and has no self-awareness” (Warren, page 499). In contrast, our text states that “…some fetuses develop the capacity to survive outside the womb…” after nearly being two-thirds fully developed; this means that a fetus is ultimately capable of communication and awareness through it’s movements (Munson and Lague, page 469).
Abortion serves as an alternative to those who face the highest costs of bearing and raising children like young women who have not finished school yet, couples who face the expectation of a child that will have severe physical complications, contraceptive failure, and those who are poor or are not able to afford children, especially, in the event that these children will be raised by a single parent. Abortion as a legal business emerged following the Supreme Court’s, Roe v. Wade, decision to constitutionalize abortion in 1973. Since the Supreme Court ruling of Roe v. Wade, the market for abortion has become an important part of America’s economy. For years following those decisions, abortion opponents have attacked patients, passing laws that restrict abortion access. Some of those laws include: requiring parental involvement in a minor’s decision to have an
Pro-Life side, one that feels that every life is a miracle and deserves the chance to live. This side stays on the course that all lives matter and deserve the chance to live. Pro-Life argues that taking the life of another is not accepted in any society, they argue the side effects of abortions, and they argue that adoption is an alternative to abortion as
Since the people are set on saying what about those people. It doesn’t justify the reasoning to not have an abortion on the fact that the people could have been of somewhat importance. Why bother keeping the child just for that supposedly reason that a fetus could become something of importance. Should it mean that the women conceiving the child should still have the baby even though they would die having them even if they do not know if the baby would not even have such an importance ?
Instead of having an abortion, women can choose a more beneficial option, such as giving the baby up for adoption. When women decide to get an abortion, they don’t think about adoption because of the long process, even though it can help other families who can’t have children. For example “It’s logical that anti-abortion organizations seeking to prevent abortions and promote traditional family structures would aggressively promote adoption, but this connection is often overlooked…”(Joyce). Many women that get pregnant with an unwanted child usually look into having an abortion first rather than going through the long process of pregnancy and giving the baby up for adoption. Furthermore, “In President Obama 's speech… he suggested that one solution to lowering abortion rates is making abortion more available”(Joyce).
Abortion is a very sensitive issue. Many people are constantly debating whether or not abortion should be allowed or not. Some people think abortion is very bad and that it should not be allowed at all. They think abortion is like committing murder as it is killing the human fetus. Others feel that the parents should have the right to choose and it is not murder until the baby is born.
Abortion Abortion is the ending of pregnancy by abolishing a fetus or embryo before it can survive outside the uterus. Abortion is a very controversial topic, for example, one side of this topic believes abortion is cruel and committing murder, while the other side believes that since the fetus or embryo isn 't developed enough to be considered a living human being yet, that abortion is not commiting murder. Despite this information, there is a lot more to abortion than the opinion of it being “right” or “wrong”. According to “Students for life” who are pro life, about 1 million abortions are executed each year in the US. That data adds up to 22% of pregnancies ending in abortion.
Some people opposed to abortion say it gives a means of getting out of another issue. Megan Clancy an abortion oppose has written “There are women who are raped and become pregnant; the problem is that they were raped, not that they are pregnant. There are women who are starving who become pregnant; the problem is that they are starving, not that they are pregnant. There are women in abusive relationships who become pregnant; the problem is that they are in abusive relationships, not that they are pregnant.” A number of people are against abortion as it can be problematic for the women in the future while others are opposed as they say it will not ‘free women’ (BBC,
Abortion is the deliberate killing of the weakest and the most defenseless among us. No one has the right to take the life of another person, even an unborn child. Abortion usually ends up hurting the mother as the emotional effects become worse and worse. This problem is even more common when there is pressure by others on the woman to have the abortion, and she does so reluctantly. Adoption is a lot safer than abortion, if people knew the facts about abortion I bet they would rather give their child for adoption rather than having an abortion.
In the world today, morality is not black and white anymore, it has developed into a gray area in which can scarcely be defined. The dictionary definition of morality is stated as "the quality of being in accord with standards of right or good conduct. " Be that as it may, everyone has a contrasting opinion or view of right and wrong. This disagreement of opinion on what is moral causes controversy, such as the topic of abortion. Since abortion is simply put as the killing of an unborn child, why are women that kill their children convicted as murders when women who abort their children are not convicted as murderers?
