The movie that I have seen in the past month that I decided to write about was Disney’s Maleficent. The version that I will be discussing about is the 2014 version, not the 1959 version. Which is also known as Sleeping Beauty from which Walt Disney created himself while he was alive. The aspect of that I will be focusing about from the film will be about the overall effects in the film. I was astonished with how all the effects looked in the film, that came from 3D computer-generated imagery. Most of the film was effects since it’s supposed to be placed in a magical fantasy realm. The one effect that truly amazed me was Maleficent’s wings. They looked so real, you can see every single detail of the wing from top to bottom. The way that the
Steel Magnolias and My Girl are both classified as dramas. In both movies, the characters lose someone very dear to them. My Girl stars two young children who are the bestest of friends. Steel Magnolias stars a mother, her friends and her daughter who has severe diabetes.
The Princess Bride vs. The Movie “The Princess Bride” was basically about how Buttercup was deeply in love with Westley. Although the girls were jealous of her because the village boys kept talking to her she really didn’t care about brushing her hair or washing her face. Prince Humperdinck father was not going to be king anymore, so he had to find a princess to marry. Unfortunately, he didn’t want to marry a bald girl. So, they find another person for him which was Buttercup.

Within this piece of literacy work, James Braddock, who is the main character in the movie Cinderella Man, which is based off the book written by Jeremy Schaap, and Jurgis Rudkus, who is a fictional character from the book The Jungle written by Upton Sinclair. Cinderella Man takes place in New Jersey right before the Great Depression hits. The Jungle begins with Jurgis’ family coming to Chicago to work and they find a boarding house to live in and jobs within Packingtown to work at. Although Jurgis Rudkus and James Braddock are both hard working men, they have a wide variety of similarities and differences in physical traits, family dynamics, and personal values.
“The Shining” is a novel written by Stephen King in 1977 and a horror movie directed by Stanley Kubrick in 1980. The novel and movie tells a story about Jack Torrance, who becomes the off-season winter caretaker of the Overlook Hotel. Although the movie and the book have some similarities; there are many differences from the adaptation of the novel. Cinderella Man directed by Ron Howard is a movie that takes place during the Great Depression in the 1930’s is about a American boxer, James Braddock, that has to survive with little money after getting hurt and not being able to box. Jurgis Rudkus and James Braddock are very similar throughout this book and movie. They go through hard times, but in the end they get what they want and have a much better life.

The movie “Ever After” by Andy Tennant, and The short story Cinderella by Perrault, are both very different takes on the story of Cinderella. Perrault’s version of the story is the story that most of us have grown up with. It’s captivating and magical, but also it’s very one-dimensional, with a “magic pumpkin” and a “fairy godmother”. While, Tennant’s version is by far more realistic in nature, there is no magic pumpkin, but there is a prince who becomes her husband, an evil stepmother, and a pretty, kind hearted girl who slaves away doing as her stepmother demands. The “fairy godmother” does not randomly appear from no where, in “Ever After”, instead she is replaced by the great inventor Leonardo Da Vinic.
Disney has successfully given viewers of their movies warm and comforting feelings because there is always a happy ending. Disney productions have also taught young children the difference between good and evil. Films such as “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” and “Cinderella” are two of their earlier movies that are vastly different, but share similarities as well. For instance, both Cinderella and Snow White are beautiful princesses that are forced to be maids and have similar antagonists in their stories, which are evil step mothers who are jealous of their step daughter 's beauty.
