How Technology and Economy Change Human History

The world was and continues to be an ever-changing place. This was true in 1250 and 1450 B.C.E. Between those two times, many changes happened that would affect the world permanently, whether it be good or bad. Western Europe was facing a time of great economic change, with the founding of many systems that are still used today. In the Middle East, power dynamics were shifting with the fall of the Byzantine Empire and Islamic caliphate.

“Men could see no further than the present inconveniences, and never thought of providing remedies for future ones, but in proportion as they arose. ” Jean-Jacques Rousseau, French writer and philosopher, acknowledged humanity’s myopic predilection. Ignoring long-term impact in favor of immediate satiation, humanity will often continue to make the same mistakes. This shortsightedness is a contributing factor to the cyclical nature of history.

Up to this time period of the world, have all these things in the past happened to help our world move forward (evolutionary)? Or have these things worked against us (revolutionary)? Some things from our past have helped us move forward, but some have also held us back. In the past we have had a lot of wars, but how have they affected us today?

The Industrial Revolution has had a huge impact on the world today and ultimately altered societies around the world. It revolutionized the things we do in our everyday life. It exposed a new way to manufacture mass amounts of goods. Regardless of the possibility that it expanded creation and assortment of made items and products and enhanced standard living for some people, the poor and lower class had to manage harsh and remorseless living conditions. Without a generation of civilized people to study history, to preserve its records, to absorb its lessons and relate them to its own problems, history, too, would lose its meaning.” Humans must heavily analyze the past via themes when reviewing sources in order to understand the past through our ancestors eyes. This is why the themes of the 3Cs, Change, Comparison and Connection are fundamental. Connection must be considered due to the way countries can affect each other, such as the way the Industrial Revolution had a widespread impact across the world.

Internet has transformed our day to day live personally, socially, politically and professionally. The internet impacts our personal, social and business lives. When we wake up in the morning, we use our internet device to check the weather, the news and our social media site. When we get to the office, we check our business emails and respond to them. Before the wide spread use of the internet about 32 years ago people use to talk on landline telephones and people use to TV that use analog equipment.
