On April 23, 2017, I took part in volunteering at the 9Health Fair at Community College of Aurora. Before showing up we all were e-mailed instructions on the Health fair protocols for taking blood pressure (BP), performing Body Mass index (BMI) and pulse oximetry (02 sat). As well as, the Ask a Medical Question/Get a Referral station. Ask a Medical Question/Get a Referral Protocol was the station I was assigned to. When arriving, we all gathered in a room to have breakfast and meet the coordinators. We all then went to our stations, got orientated with our station and waited for our first patients to arrive. I communicated with the patient’s, my preceptor, other nurses, the PCT’s, PT, and the kitchen staff. When I was in the patient’s room I was sure to explain what I was doing, and answer any questions the patients had about their plan of care. I worked with my preceptor throughout the shift, asking questions, clarifying orders, clarifying medications, procedures and more. I communicated with other nurses by thoroughly receiving and handing off report. I communicated with the PCT’s that I would perform the vital signs for my patients and worked with the PCT when my patient needed labs to be sent down.
In mental health there are a lot of different roles of different agencies and professionals within the assessments, both of these are for the protection of the service user and service provisions these include mental health services which are set up and run by the NHS organisations as well as some voluntary sectors there are also private companies which are paid for by or commissioned by the NHS. A local GP should be able to recognise a service users symptoms and diagnose the service users symptoms of mental health or psychosis then they should refer the service user to an intervention service were they will then be assessed. These assessments will then be carried out on the service user, which will then provide them with the right services
Healthy People 2020 The purpose of this paper is to talk about the health of my community. It occurred today Wednesday, November 9th from 10am – 2pm located in the Sombrilla. The purpose of this program was to promote health and wellness to UTSA community.
Today, On Wednesday, September 9, 2015, I attended a beginning of the school year healthcare meeting. The annual meeting was conducted by one of the school nurses and it included all of the second grade teachers. Before today’s meeting I had never attended a health care meeting, but I certainly knew of the importance of having a good relationship and communication between school nurses and educators. A teacher’s responsibility includes so many variables including and foremost a student’s care and safety. Additionally, School nurses help educators in ensuring and caring for student’s and their healthcare needs.
