However, the book Emancipation Day written by Wayne Grady ,sheds light on the perspective of a light skinned young man named Jackson Lewis who is born into an African American family that is black. We use fantasy to cope in many ways. We escape from reality in books, movies, and in our dreams. However, when we allow those fantasies to take more control--break into our reality-- and mask the events that we should be coping with; it becomes almost detrimental to our perception of reality itself. Society is always hungry for new technology and inventions, even at the risk of harm such as changing time. In “A Sound of Thunder”, the story shows that people are so desperate for more thrills and adrenaline rush that they risk changing the future and their own lives just to shoot a dinosaur- even though the only thing they would possibly receive is a picture.
