On April 19, 1775, the Battle of Lexington and Concord signaled the start of the American Revolution. The British started in Boston, marched northwest to Lexington, and won the battle of Lexington. Then, the British marched west to Concord and lost the battle. The British ended up retreating to Charlestown. Another event that led up to the American Revolutionary War was the battle of Bunker Hill. On June 15, the Patriot militia leaders, representing the colonists, decided to build a fort on top of Bunker Hill for protection. They built the fort with dirt walls stacked six feet high. Since the fort was located on top of the hill, it was difficult for the British to attack. The colonists successfully protected the fort from two attacks by the British. But on the third attack, the colonists ran out of gun powder, so the British captured the fort. Even though the British were victorious, they suffered many injuries and deaths which gave encouragement to the colonists to fight in the war. The Battle of Bunker Hill might have been something that motivated the colonists to keep fighting in the American Revolution. These battles were a significant part of the American Revolution. The Battles of Lexington and Concord signaled the beginning of the American Revolution, and the Battle of Bunker Hill gave encouragement to the colonies to continue
The American Revolutionary War was a war fought from 1775-1783, also known as the American War of Independence, between the Kingdom of Great Britain and the thirteen colonies. The colonies wanted independence and free from British rule. In order to gain their independence the colonies had to fight for it.
The incident of Lexington and Concord was a catalyst that started the movement of the colonies wanting independence. The battle of Bunker hill unified the colonies more towards independence from the king and began the beginning of the loyalists and the patriots. As the American colonist heard about these battles they faced major decision should they join the rebels or remain loyal to Britain? The day before the battle of Lexington and Concord the colonists had information and intelligence that the british army was heading for Lexington and Concord.
The American Revolution was a war fought by American colonies to gain independence from the British control. The American Revolution was caused by a series of events. It all started with the French and Indian War in 1754. At the end of the war, King George III issued the proclamation of 1763 which prohibited colonists to settle beyond the Appalachian Mountains, many colonists took great offense at this order. The war between Britain and France caused Britain to be deeply in debt and demanded tax from the colonies.
The American Revolution was a time period where there were 13 colonies in America exploring more of the land everyday, The british shared the land with people who are called the pilgrims and ended up soon turning into Patriots and after that Americans. Great Britain started abusing their colonists while there were shootings and many taxes of colonists, many were unfair, and this led to the revolution. This war was between The Patriot/Americans against the British/Loyalists. The revolution happened because a few major events in history took place in Boston others will say it as British Territory.
The American Revolution was one of the most important wars that was fought in the history of the United States. The Patriots and the British had two different views on how things should be run in America. Many people have different opinions on why, where and how the war was started. There were a few key battles that helped to influence the outcome of the war. The outcome of the American Revolutionary War influenced the United States way of Freedom and the way the American people live today.
The American Revolution was a war between the American colonies and Great Britain, in which the American colonies won their independence from great Britain. Gaining their independence from Britain was not as easy as it might have sounded. People in America were strongly independent and wanted to do things for themselves, but Great Britain had different plans for the them. The rules that were inflicted upon the Americans evoked many factors that were responsible for the American Revolution. The British government used ways to coerce the Americans.
Before I really knew anything about the American Revolution, I believed that there was only one overarching reason that sparked the American Revolution; colonists just decided one day to become independent. As I have learned more about the Revolution, I discovered I was completely wrong. There are, in fact, two main viewpoints that commenced the Revolution: British loyalists and conservatives against the radicals. The loyalist and more conservative side was supportive of any of the rules, laws, taxes, or anything of that sort that British Parliament or monarchy put in place. In contrast, the radical’s craved for independence from the British government since they deemed their laws as useless and confining.
The Revolutionary War caused lots of violence on both sides; the colonies and the British. Both sides lost many lives, and both sides won and lost many battles. The British army had trained soldiers that were more numerous and experienced than the American Minutemen. Americans believed that they were defined by their beliefs, in fighting for their rights, instead of their heritage. The unity of the American people was a defined by everybody together in a democracy, instead of the British monarchy that people were suppressed by, and left to join America for.
Even after losing the battle, American forces gained confidence to become stronger. The battle of Bunker Hill provided encouragement for the colonists and helped Americans gain independence. It helped the colonists send a clear message to the British that they were able to stand tall and strengthen their colonies to fight for their freedom. This battle was a very significant event in the Revolutionary War and had a direct affect on the outcome of the war and our history.
What Caused the American Revolution The American Revolution was a battle for leadership in the American colonies. At the time, England controlled nearly all aspects, mostly the political and economic, of the colonial lives. Their purpose was to strengthen England. The colonies wanted the freedom from all of the control because they were doing fine without England.
The Revolutionary war was not revolutionary because it did not protect some of people’s rights, made lives harder, and left Americans in despair. The Declaration of Independence clearly stated that all men are created equal and unalienable rights (Document 2). This, however, is not shown through the social classes. The Revolutionary War was fought to bring freedom, but that undoubtedly does not show. First and foremost, Abigail Adams wrote “Remember the ladies, and be more generous and favourable to them than your ancestors.
Revolutionary War One cause of the Revolutionary War was the Boston Massacre. The four graves and nickname “Horrid Massacre” shows that the colonists were angry and enraged at the British troops for killing innocent people (Document 3). The colonists believed that British troops should have not fired because they were unarmed and just throwing snowballs, however, from the soldier 's ' point of view, they believed that the colonists are guilty because they were throwing clubs, ice and other sharp things. Also, the colonists were telling the soldiers to fire at them thus confusing them into thinking that their commander was saying “fire”. The angry colonists sought revenge and independence against the British.
The American Revolution occurred between 1765 and 1783. Colonists in the thirteen american colonies had disagreements with the british monarchy and aristocracy. The American Revolution War was also known as the U.S. War of Independence. During these years Americans went through a series of battles and new laws and rules were set. During the American Revolution there were a lot of long term and short term causes, including economic factors, english political legacy, and foreign policy.

The American Revolution (1700-1790) was a historical event in time, where the Thirteen Colonies that became the United States of America, gained independence from the British Empire.
