The NFA also established the guidelines to create a database for over four million weapons inventoried and tracked. Mr. Berlow makes a strong argument that gun control works, his argument is mostly based on the NFA. Almost all criminal incidents that involved weapons were investigated and found not to be weapons currently inventoried by the NFA. Berlow wins his argument by providing factual data showing positive gun control via the NFA; he accidentally proves the inability to properly control firearms at the same time.
The author’s methodology first includes a discussion of the issue at hand leading to a synopsis of why this problem even originated. Additionally, the author presents information on how other people in the field perceive the issue and who is to “blame” through the use of quotes. For example, Mark Rosenberg, the founder of the CDC’s National Center for Injury Prevention and Control argues that it was the leadership of the CDC who prevented further research on gun violence. On the other hand, another primary speaker, current Injury Center Director Debra Houry has been thought to have defended the agency’s decision by saying it still partakes in data collection of firearm research. After discussing the CDC and the need for it to address an issue like this, the NRA’s influence on the organization is explained.
Gun control By conner clark Did you know that americans have more guns than anyone else on earth and that more than 30,000 americans die each year to firearms. The article “Gun Control Laws” (2016) emphasizes the point that the United States views on gun control vary from person to person. For example, supporters of the stricter gun control laws believe that by enforcing stronger gun control laws throughout the nation it will decrease the amount of gun violence. In addition to stricter gun laws, supporters believe that the United States needs to make it more difficult to obtain a gun. However, opponents of the gun control laws, that believe the federal government is abusing their power, think that guns are the only way to stop other guns. Furthermore, opponents believe that limiting Americans ability to purchase a firearm is taking away their second amendment.

One of the major arguments for the elimination of firearms, and derivatively for gun control laws, is that such measures would reduce the number of criminal homicides.' It has been argued, however, that eliminating guns would have no such effect because if somebody wants to kill, he will find a weapon to achieve "his destructive goal"; there is, it is said, more than one way to skin a cat. This paper is an attempt to bring this phase of the gun control debate closer to a resolution, through analysis of data from the Police Department of the City of Chicago on reported criminal homicides and serious, but not fatal, criminal assaults during 1965, 1966, and 1967.
Between 2000 and 2015, over 150,000 Americans were killed in gun related homicides (Zakaria). It has been estimated that there are over 310 million guns in the hands of United States citizens (Krouse). These statistics have rallied many gun-control opponents and proponents to action. Gun control opponents believe that the answer to this problem is to loosen gun control laws to dissuade potential shooters. Gun control proponents believe that the answer is to tighten gun control laws so that a gun is never put into a potential shooter’s hands.

According to Follman’s study,“ since 1982 there have been at least 61 mass murders carried out with firearms across the United States, with the killings unfolding in 30 states from Massachusetts to Hawaii” (Follman 119). It shows that many criminals have guns and many people are under the fear state of being killed. As a result, it made the topic whether the government should control guns more strictly more controversial.
