Children are amazing gifts from God. It is truly incredible how babies are formed inside of a woman, where they are able to grow and live for 9 months inside of her. This is not always a happy time for an expecting mother. Some decide that they do not want the life that was created inside of them, and they choose abortion. This action of killing a human being before birth has become extremely rampant in our society today. Even with this growing acceptance, abortion is still immoral, unconstitutional, and selfish. If people looked at abortion in this way, there would be fewer babies killed. Many say that there is nothing wrong with abortion. It specifically says that killing is not acceptable. If someone has committed this crime, he or she is to be punished. In today’s society, this is not the case. These days, abortion is the exception to this rule. If someone was to go out and shoot another person, they would be caught and put in prison. Doctors who abort babies do not even attempt to hide their murder. Women can walk into a doctor’s office and simply ask for an abortion. Their child will be killed, and in most cases the mother will not think a thing about it. This is a baby who would have had the whole world in front of it to live, but it was never even given a chance. It is so sad that America, along with the rest of the world, has so easily gone along with this terrible procedure. Abortion ultimately is an act of selfishness. It is not the baby’s fault that its mother got pregnant with it. It was her choice to act in such a way that would result in a child. When she finds out that she is pregnant, she should take responsibility for her actions. Instead, most young women take the easy way out. They turn to what is easy and better for them at the time, rather than deciding to take care of the child they have inside of them. The baby is helpless and completely at the mercy of its mother.
