They seek to gain knowledge, to be exposed to ideas and philosophies that will enhance their lives. One of the main reasons to obtain a college education is the hope of using it to find a job that will enable them to live a comfortable life with a financially secured future. Some students go with the hope of meeting that one special person who will always care for them. Some students go to college so that they can move up in life.

Many students go to college to get a bachelor’s degree for his or her major, and some students go farther than that to get a masters or a doctorates’ degree. The argument between people in today’s society is whether college is worth the cost. Besides, college will help me to meet new people, gain experience and skills to get a decent job. As a student, I expect my college to prepare me for all the obstacles that will come in the real world. The overall decision to go to college was made on the vision of a life greater than what was provided to me by my parents. Though there are many individuals who believe that college is not for everyone, attending college and getting a higher education can open the gates to many tremendous life changing opportunities such as becoming healthier, begin able to secure jobs, and earning more financially.

Going to college in order to get a career ,and ultimately live a financially stable life has always been my goal. My goal seems small, but it means everything to me and it is really just a small step into my lifetime goal of having a career and making a good financial living.
