The Declaration of Health

There are 5 food groups. There are fruits, vegetables, dairy, proteins, and grains. In this 7 paragraph essay, you will learn about what nutrients they provide, misconceptions about the food group, and some recommendations that could help you eat and live better.

A food group that has to be a big part of my daily diet is the fruit food group. “Any fruit or 100% fruit juice is a part of the fruit group”(“All about the Fruit Group”). Some fruits include: apples, oranges, strawberries, and watermelons. Some people think factories do not wash their fruits. They in fact do. If factories didn’t wash their fruits, then they wouldn’t be able to sell their produce. “Most fruits are naturally low in fat, sodium, and calories. Some of these supplements include: "Meat, poultry, fish, dry beans and peas, eggs, nuts, and seeds supply many nutrients. These include protein, B vitamins (niacin, thiamin, riboflavin, and B6), vitamin E, iron, zinc, and magnesium"("Nutrients and Health Benefits"). Seafood, eggs, beans, and beef could all get you these nutrients. People might not believe me if I say that nuts are considered part of the protein group, but they in fact are. Nuts and seeds still get you a lot of protein, maybe for vegetarians. "The amount of food from the Protein Foods Group you need to eat depends on age, sex, and level of physical activity. Most Americans eat enough food from this group, but need to make leaner and more varied selections of these foods"("All about the Proteins Foods Group?"). The USDA recommends to "Trim away all of the visible fat from meats and poultry before cooking." I'll have to change my current eating habit by eating less protein foods because some of them have high saturated fat, which is bad. I'll have trouble changing it because I personally LOVE seafood, but as I said, some of them have high saturated
