I communicated with the patient’s, my preceptor, other nurses, the PCT’s, PT, and the kitchen staff. When I was in the patient’s room I was sure to explain what I was doing, and answer any questions the patients had about their plan of care. I worked with my preceptor throughout the shift, asking questions, clarifying orders, clarifying medications, procedures and more. My last project was solid wood, and since I hadn’t done a project in veneer, I thought I would try that. I decided to make a drop-front desk and called a company in Pennsylvania that sold veneer. I was standing in front of room 201, in front of his room, staring at the handle like a complete idiot unable to make a move. too coward to take a step inside. "Oh, Hey there you came to see patient 201." a woman with ginger hair that was tucked in a messy bun, stray hair falling out of it. Her skin was pale and she wore glasses with a thick black frame.

One girl in particular, Sarah, was extremely displeased with my arrival. I was unaware of this for the longest time until she made it very clear. My first assigned resident was this sweet lady resident who was no longer mobile, confined to her bed and chair. She didn't have much of an appetite at times and the family was always concerned about her intake. Working as a CCA involves interacting with the resident and taking an interest in their simple pleasures of their activities of everyday living. This lady's simple pleasures included watching television, her television was set on the news channel most of the time and she didn't seem very interested. I decided one day I would suggest changing the channel, with her approval I changed the channel to the food channel.
