The wellness of a human being has been broken down into five sections. These sections are: emotional wellness, intellectual wellness, physical wellness, social wellness and spiritual wellness. I think my strongest section for my personal wellness is my emotion, intellect and physical wellness. However, my weakest sections are social wellness and spiritual wellness. I believe that my emotional wellness is my strongest section. I perceive my emotions as my strongest section because I rarely let my emotions get the best of me and try not to let my emotion dictate what I do and how I perceive others. I know that I am not perfect and I know my flaws. As a result, I am not afraid to make fun of myself and will laugh with someone if they make fun …show more content…
I was always an active child and played sports in middle school and high school. I labeled my physical wellness as my third strongest factor mainly because I do not like to work out for just my health. During high school, I would become physically fit by only playing the sports I enjoyed. However, when that sport was over, I would immediately stop working out and would quickly get out of physical shape. Therefore, I only enjoy physical activities when I am participating in a sport. Furthermore, when I am motivated to work out, I enjoy running outside. I view the gym as a very reliable place to work out, but I also believe gym’s are boring and provide a disadvantage for athlete because the athletes do not become accustomed to the heat or the cold. Lastly, one thing that a lot of people like to do is to lift weights. I believe lifting weights can be an important activity in sports that are more physical, but I personally find lifting weights extremely boring. I perceive physical strength to be somewhat important, but one of the most important aspects of a sport that I see is …show more content…
I am extremely shy and try not to talk to people I do not know, but if I become comfortable around someone then I will talk a lot more. I believe that true friends are one of the most important things to have in life. As a result, I would rather have a small group of well known friends as opposed to a large group of somewhat known friends. When speaking, I feel that the smaller the group I am trying to talk to, the harder it is. For example, talking to new people at school causes me to feel stressed mainly because the people I am talking to will probably know somewhat about me, but public speaking comes easy to me because I know that the majority of the people I speak to will not speak to me ever

Social wellness also known as social health is part of the six Dimensions of Health. Social wellness is the ability to basically have and maintain a social life. There are a great many of examples of social wellness like in our everyday lives and even in movies especially the movie “Annapolis”. Social wellness is the part of life that allows us to have relationship with our friends and loved ones. According to the textbook “Access to Health” it explains that with social wellness we are able to quote “to give and receive love and to be nurturing and supportive in social interactions” (Donatelle 6).
Body 1 – Melinda, and emotional wellness. In the health career field, us as health care professionals will face a number of different cultural, ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds/groups. There will be many opportunities where we will confront all these differences and we have to learn to accept these differences and work around it by respecting their beliefs and traditions but also getting the job done. The Native American culture is one of many cultures that is so complex and strict when it comes to their beliefs against health care, disease, and sickness. The concept of “Well-being” is defined in five main areas. (a) as personal
Why? “Absolutely. Everyone is in it for the same mindset to either get fit, gain strength, or simply maintain their bodies.” How do you feel before you attend the gym vs.
According to the Wellness Inventory, my lowest scores were in the Wellness and Breathing and Playing/ Working Categories. Doing this assignment really opened my eyes and it was very beneficial to me. I had always felt like I eat healthy and stay active the majority of the time. Now, I’m starting to think that maybe I am not active at all, only too busy running around. While I was reading the textbook, on the topic of Reinforcing Factors, it was saying how you should not make goals “from a desire to please or impress someone else (Page 17).”
A problem I have in the physical health section of my triangle is that I don’t spend a lot of time doing physical activities even though I should be. To fix this, what I’ll do is increase the amount of time I stay outside and get more involved in activities that makes me move. I also have to sleep more often, so I’ll have to create a schedule that fits in all my daily activities and gives me plenty of time to sleep. I already have a healthy eating habit which means that I’ll have a good boost of energy to help me get through the day. As for my mental/emotional health, I think it’s competent, but could still use some improvements.
I am one of the 15 million Americans that suffer from social anxiety and an extreme fear of public speaking, however this is the exact thing that saved my life. My family has been involved with life theatre for as long as I can remember, my father went to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, my uncle helps run a theatre troops, and I starred in my first show at the age of four. Naturally, the "theatre bug" bit me as well and I started really getting into it at the age of 13. Now, we all have our niche, mine is theatre, literature, and music, yours may be sports, drawing, dancing, playing an instrument, writing, or anything that makes you feel good, I didn't fit into any of those categories, I played soccer and I was good
But after about a week or two in this class I had realized that I got put into classes that I knew most of the people, so I felt like this would be easier that I had originally thought. By the time that I reached 7th grade I felt even more confident about talking in front of a group and made many presentations for different class in front of a group. So throughout 7th and 8th grade I felt as I have if had become easier to talk in front of a group because I wouldn’t be as nervous as I had before. When I finished the 8th grade I felt like I had come one step closer to conquering my fear of talking in front of large groups. So know I have finished 8th grade
The thing about sports is that it never affected my life in the past. Now, this past I’m talking about is before moving into my new home in Edgemont back in grade four. Growing up in my household with three sisters, my parents never put pressure on me to do sports. I grew up revolved around video games and just staying at home. I knew how to kick a ball around, and participated in elementary school gym but nothing more than that.
Wellness coaching is growing rapid over the years to help improve the quality of life and breaking old habits. It is becoming an active strategy in many therapeutic fields to be used to help with prevention, health promotion, and encouraging individuals to make a change for the better (Clark, 2013). Wellness coaching is based off positive psychology to help motivate and help people to reach their goals in their health (Collins, 2009). Wellness coaching focuses on the individual’s well-being and overall health by giving the individual support, motivation, and goals to get to where the individual wants to be (Grodzki & Allen, 2005). Wellness coaches are trained to help individuals to work towards his her goals that are focused on wellness and physical health (Nelson & Shckley, 2013).
I have always been a very social person my entire life. That all changed when I had to interact with people in a language I was not comfortable with. This made me very shy and to myself. On the inside I wanted to make tons of friends, but to everyone else I seemed antisocial. I realized I had to force myself out of my comfort zone and start engaging into conversations.
This is the problem. Society have always neglected the very need of health maintenance. Workout is the solution. When it comes to work out there are so many perspective and today with my almost 2 years’ experience of doing workout I want to persuade you all that workout is not a sport, something much more than it. Workout is a healthy lifestyle.
Next to health is wellness. On the other hand, wellness is an active process of being aware of and making choices towards a more successful existence. These are some of the dimension of health and wellness.
