John Adams Accomplishments

John Adams was born on October 30, 1735, in Braintree, Massachusetts. His mother, Susanna Boylston Adams, was a successor of the Boylstons of Brookline, a protruding family in colonial Massachusetts. His father John Adams Sr. was a town councilman, a Congregationalist, and a farmer. When he was 16 he received a studentship to Harvard university, he advanced in 1775 at the age of 20. He was awarded his master’s degree in 1758, he studied law in the office.

John Adams, the oldest son of John and Susanna Boylston Adams’ three sons, was born in Braintree, Massachusetts on October 30, 1735. Being born with a father who was a farmer and local officeholder, Adams had the passion to attend Harvard to become a law student. While studying law, he contributed to writing essays in the Boston newspapers and also participated in town affairs. Receiving his bachelor’s degree in 1764, he taught a year of school in Worcester, Massachusetts.

John Adams was arguably one of the most influential leaders in America between 1607 and 1840. He was born on October 30, 1735 in Braintree, MA and died in July 4, 1826 in Quincy, MA. During his life he was a lawyer, politician and diplomat for the United States, then he eventually became the second president of the United States. There were many influences that John Adams was able to contribute over the years therefore, he is known as the “founding father.” Some of the things that John Adams contributed to the United States was the help to led the colonies through the war by gaining the support of the French, defending the soldiers in the Boston Massacre, argued against major tax acts before the start of the War, and negotiated the ‘Treaty of Paris,’ which ended the Revolutionary War.

John Adams was born on October 30, 1735 in Braintree, Massachusetts, a small town nowadays called Quincy. Although he was raised in modest surroundings, Adams felt an acute responsibility to live up his family’s heritage from an early age. At the age of sixteen, he was admitted to Harvard College where his passion for prestige – he said that he craved “Honor of Reputation” – helped him earn a law degree. Later, he specialized in constitutional law, which contributed to the development of his dedication to the principles of republicanism and a political career. He became involved in politics when his cousin, Sam, introduced him into radical politics and the subsequent revolutionary agitation against Great Britain.

John Adams made a huge contribution to the history of the United States. He made a lot that it gets hard to write about it all or just read about it all in general. His life was very interesting. John Adams’s childhood, beliefs, and personality traits contributed to his involvement in America, his career, and family life. John Adam was a lawyer and a farmer, a graduate of Harvard College, the husband of Abigail Smith Adams, the father of four children.

President John Adams was born on October 30th, in the year 1735. They used a different calendar back then so technically he was born on October 19th. The town he was born in was called Braintree, in the state of Massachusetts. The town is now called Quincy, Massachusetts. John Adams was the oldest of three boys.

In 1774 he served in the first continental congress. He was the first vice president of the United States and the second president.

John Adams is known in history for his self centeredness and stubborn headedness. As the second president of The United States, John Adams was not very popular among the American citizens for the bills he passed and the way he treated wars. However, John Adams will still be known as one of the great founding fathers of this nation. John Adams grew up in what is now Quincy, Massachusetts. His father, John Adams Sr., was a farmer and minister.

John Adams was a great president in the years 1797-1800, with many accomplishments. Some of the many challenges he went through during his presidency included the Jay Treaty, originally signed during Washington's term, the XYZ Affair, in 1797 to 1798, and the Quasi War with France. One of the challenges John Adams had to work through, throughout his presidency was the Jay Treaty, written in 1794, several years prior to Adam’s presidency. The Jay Treaty was signed during George Washington’s term with the British. One of the clauses that were included with the Treaty included the fact that any nations at war with Britain will have their trade be limited in US ports.

President John Adams served as the second President of the United States. He was elected in 1897 after serving the nation and George Washington as his vice president for eight years 1789-1797. John Adams was widely respected by the other Founding Fathers for his wisdom, and great personal sacrifices he made during the Revolutionary War. John Adams took office when America was only 21years old. During this term the founding fathers began to come up with different ideas on the future of the new country and how it should be governed.

The History of Abigail Smith Adams Abigail Smith Adams (1744-1818) was the wife of John Adams, the second president of the United States, and mother of John Quincy Adams, the sixth president of the United States. She was born about 30 years before the Revolutionary War and ran her entire household during the war with very little help. After the war, she went to Europe to be with John and later became very involved in politics when John became vice president and then president, by advising him. Abigail was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts, on November 22, 1744. “On her mother’s side she was descended from the Quincys, a family of great prestige in the colony; her father and other forebears were Congregational ministers, leaders in a society that held its clergy in high esteem” (Black).

It’s hard to defer whether or not John Adams was an effective president because, although many historians believe that Adams was correct in not expanding the naval war with France into a conflict which saved many people’s lives, there were things that he established and believed that completely contradicted the newly established constitution. This could’ve put America into jeopardy. These things included the belief that the executive branch should stand above politics, his agreement to sign the Alien and Sedition Acts, and the fact that mostly of the people in the United States, including his own party, turned away from his ideas, which definitely did not make him the most effective president. Sam Adams was born September 27, 1722, in Boston, Massachusetts. He graduated from Harvard in 1740 and will later be know as one of the founding fathers. He took out a loan from his father and gave half to a friend that never repaid him and he spent the other half. Then his father names him a partner in the family business and Adams make a weekly article which fails and in 1756 he was a tax collector but he failed to collect the taxes. He served as a legislator for Massachusetts from 1765-1774.
